The outside of the bed is in poly/cotton and the inside is lined in soft microfleece. The pillow has a layer of metalized insulation that radiates warmth generated from the pets own body heat. A cozy lounge bed that every pet will love. completely machine washable and filled with premium polyfil made from recycled plastic bottles. The bottom of the bed has a layer of "stay put" non-slip fabric for stability.

This trundle is a snuggle bed, sleeping bag or blanket all in one. It is made from cuddly soft minky fabric and will keep pets warm and cozy, but not overly hot like some heavier furs can. Sturdy, odor- and water-resistant. The zippered outer cover of the Original Bed combines water-resistant 420 denier nylon packcloth with a faux suede sleeping surface. This outer cover surrounds an inner cushion made of ripstop nylon. The Original is filled with SmartFill, Big Shrimpy's washable and dryable recycled polyester filling. Because of this, Big Shrimpy beds can be completely deconstructed, washed, dried and rebuilt allowing the customer to refresh the bed entirely. Although the inner cushion is odor and water-resistant, it can be unzipped to remove and wash/dry the SmartFill if necessary. All the components of the Original Bed are machine washable and dryable, including the outer cover and inner cushions. These design features extend the life of the bed. Outer Covers and Inner Cushions can be purchased separately, allowing a pet owner to simply replace components when needed instead of discarding the entire bed.
Big Shrimpy beds filled with SmartFill remain a sensible and practical solution for those who are interested in "green" products. SmartFill is a clean polyester fiber that is diverted from a waste stream and used in Big Shrimpy beds without having to reprocess it. Other "recycled" fibers have gone through many high-energy processes to melt the waste material, "pelletize" it, trasport it to a factory and then reform it into a new material. This high use of energy, and thus large carbon footprint, is avoided with SmartFill. It is truly green, as it goes from a clean waste stream directly into our beds. SmartFill consists of individual tufts of fiber, rather than thousands of intertwined fibers, so it can be washed and dried without creating a twisted and knotted mess.
